Obituary for Bobbie Agnew

Bobbie Lewis Agnew, formerly of Abilene, left town February 25, 2017 from Lubbock. She was 88. Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 28, 2017 in St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Abilene with Mary Glover officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Cisco, under the direction of North’s Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. Monday, February 27, 2017 in North’s Memorial Chapel, 242 Orange St.

She was born Bobbie Beth Lewis May 6, 1928, in Alexander, TX. Her parents, Alice Sanders Lewis and Nathan Dale Lewis, are deceased.

Bobbie graduated from Haskell High School in 1944. She married Walter Bob (Pete) Agnew in 1950 in Haskell and moved to Lancaster, California, where two daughters, Alice and Janet, were born. Pete died in 1966 and Bobbie and the girls remained in California until 1967.
Before her husband’s death, Bobbie was a stay-at-home mom and Girl Scout leader. After his death, she loaded up the girls and two dogs and moved to Abilene.

Bobbie went to work for Western Marketing, Inc., eventually becoming comptroller of the company. She retired for the last time in 2008 after 40 years with Western Marketing.
After retiring, Bobbie moved to Rule to be near her oldest daughter, Alice. She lived there until 2016 when she relocated to Lubbock.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Survivors include her daughters, Alice Jones of Lubbock and Janet Lawler of Abilene; grandchildren, Bobbie Ordonez and husband Shawn of Lubbock; Megan Kindle and husband Kyle of Lubbock; Analisa Lawler and boyfriend Tyler Santillanes of Boise, Idaho; great-grandchildren, Kyndall Ordonez of Lubbock, Karli Kindle of Lubbock; one sister, Betty Allison of Waco; nephews Dr. Crawford Allison and family of Waco, Chris Allison of Harwood Charlotte Mullery of Smithville; grand-dog Bentley and cat Snickers

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Rescue the Animals, 5933 S. 1st St., Abilene 79605
