He worked for the Taylor County Sheriff’s Department until his retirement in 1995.

Van was a man of honesty, love, faith and support. He never wanted to be idled. He taught himself to sketch and paint at a young age. He painted a picture of his oldest brothers’ hound dog and it still hanging at his nieces’ house.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Wife, Christine Graham. Three brothers, Onis, Darrell and Bobby J. Graham and two sisters, Dora Jones and Alpha Williams.
