John McNulty Jr.
John Joseph McNulty Jr.,81, of Abilene passed away Monday, November 20, 2017. Funeral Services will be held at 12:30 P.M. on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 in North’s Memorial Chapel with Pastor Dennis McNulty officiating. Interment will follow at The Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene, under the direction of North’s Funeral Home, 242 Orange Street.
John was born on August 4, 1936 in Pawtucket, Rhode Island to John and Mary (LeClair) McNulty. John was a long- time resident of Abilene. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for twenty-two years and was a Vietnam veteran. After his service in the Air Force, he graduated from McMurry University and worked for many years as a social worker primarily assisting the elderly. He loved His Lord and served in many capacities in several area Baptist churches through the years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Sandra McNulty.
He is survived by his wife Joyce McNulty; his brother Billy McNulty of Central Falls, Rhode Island, sisters; Betty St. Pierre of Central Falls, Rhode Island and Evelyn Towner of Cumberland, Rhode Island; four sons; Dennis McNulty of Ringgold, Georgia, Mark McNulty of Ballinger, Texas, Kenneth McNulty of Katy, Texas and Ernest McNulty of Waco, Texas; stepsons: Ron Huyck of Abilene, George Huyck of Dallas, Scott Huyck of Cedar Hill, Texas, Danny Huyck of Dallas, Texas and Jimmy Huyck of Abilene, Texas daughters-in-law; Renee McNulty of Ringgold, Georgia, Janie McNulty of Ballinger, Texas, and Allison McNulty of Katy, Texas, Terri Huyck of Abilene, Texas, Tracy Huyck of Dallas, Texas, Janet Huyck of Cedar Hill, Texas, and Cristy Huyck of Dallas, Texas; eight grandchildren; Bonnie Brooks of Cody, Wyoming, Austin McNulty of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Travis, Hailey and Sean McNulty of Ringgold, Georgia, Kristy McNulty of Austin, Texas, Dawn Carter of Hot Springs, Arizona and Alyssa McNulty of Katy, Texas and three-great-grandchildren: Olivia Brooks of Cody, Wyoming, Maximus and Deacon McNulty of Colorado Springs, Colorado.
