John L. Altman, 80, of Abilene, entered heaven surrounded by his loving family on March 17, 2018 in Abilene. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. John never met a stranger and impacted the lives of everyone he met.

John was born in Ballinger, Texas to H.L. Altman and Doris Altman on December 30, 1937. He lived in California for 28 years before moving back to Abilene in 1978, where he spent over 38 years in the medical supply industry in Abilene before retiring in 2016. John, known to his family as Papa, loved spending time with his wife, daughters and their families. He enjoyed playing golf, morning coffee with friends, visiting California and Las Vegas, listening to oldies and Jimmy Buffett.

John was preceded in death by his parents.
