Obituary for Floyde Arthur Thornburg Jr.

Floyde Arthur  Thornburg Jr.
Floyde Arthur "Chuck" Thornburg, Jr., of Abilene, Texas passed away April 8, 2018.

Chuck was born October 29, 1935 in Osborne, Kansas to Dora B. Trexler and Floyde Arthur Thornburg, Sr. He served in the United States Air Force for 20 years and was a Veteran of the Vietnam conflict. He was a member of St. Vincent Palotti Catholic Church where he previously served with the Knights of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Keith Thornburg.

Chuck is survived by his wife of 62 years Trinie Thornburg, daughter Patti Palmer and husband Rodney, son Rick Thornburg and wife Keri, son Lanny Thornburg, son Randy Thornburg and wife Janice, and daughter Denise Tauer and husband Joe Tauer, brother Dale Thornburg and wife Norma, and sisters Jane Smith and Lynn Bernard. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange Street from 5:00-6:30 pm with Rosary 6:30-7:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 9:30 am at St. Vincents Palotti Catholic Church, 2525 Westview Drive with Fr. Lorenzo Hatch officiating. Interment will follow in the Texas State Veteran’s Cemetery Abilene TX, 7457 W. Lake Road, under the direction of North’s Funeral Home.
