Gladys Grabowski, 83 of Abilene, passed away Monday, October 21, 2019 at 8:15 PM.
Gladys was born April 1, 1936 in Quincy, KS to Sarah Maud McConnaughey and Raymond Earl Dawson.
Gladys served others throughout her life as a secretary at White Sands Proving Grounds during the Nike missile development era. She later served as bookkeeper for Kuykendall Office Machines and Ski’s Electric, sales associate for Sears and JC Penney, and resident attendant at Sears Heritage Place. In addition to her professional service, Gladys cared for her elderly mother for 13 years and for her brother Marvin during the final years of his life.
In accordance with her wishes there will be no viewing or services. Her remains will be interred with her husband, Adolph (Ski) Grabowski Jr. at Fort Sam Houston military cemetery.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Eugene and Marvin Dawson, and husband Adolph (Ski) Grabowski Jr.
