Rev. Kenneth Lloyd Carpenter Sr. departed this life Thursday, March 5th, 2020 after a long and tough battle with Cancer. A Life Celebration Service will be held Friday March 13, 2020 at 11am at the Trinity Baptist Church in Abilene, TX with burial to follow at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 12 from 6-8pm at the North's Funeral Home Chapel.

Kenneth was born April 12, 1963 in Los Angeles CA. to the late Alvin and Jacqueline Carpenter, Sr. He graduated from Compton High School spring of 1984 and joined the United States Air Force August of 1985. After Completing his duties with the United States Air Force, He then started his career as an over the road truck driver. He accepted his calling into the ministry in 1994. Later years he spent his time serving as the Pastor of Holiday Hills Baptist Church for 7 years before resigning December 2018. Kenneth enjoyed outreach, and believed that was the heart of the church. He became very active within the community. Kenneth was a part of Connecting Caring Communities, the Citizen's Police Academy, House of Faith, and the Alameda Project. His favorite past time became riding along with the Abilene Police Department. August 30, 2019 Kenneth took on his role as the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Chaplain for the Price Daniel Unit.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents and older sister Renee Williams (Earl).
He leaves to cherish his memories and celebration of his life with Loving wife of 31 years, Cheryl Hays Carpenter, son Kenneth Carpenter Jr. of California, daughter Tiffany Hays, Daughter Stephanie Carpenter, son Kenneth Adrian Carpenter all of Abilene, TX, his grandsons Kayden, Juan, Lawson, and Corey. Siblings Terrel Tisdale (Thomas) and Alvin Carpenter Jr., and a host of Cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.
