Obituary

Elizabeth June Foresyth was called home early in the morning Saturday, April 18, after a long battle with cancer. Friends may call Thursday, April 23 from 11am until 5pm at North’s Funeral Home, 242 Orange St, Abilene. Graveside services will be held at 2pm Friday at Abilene City Cemetery.

June was born on June 14, 1946 in Big Spring, Texas to Weaver and Ruby Foresyth. She and her parents moved to Abilene to be near her grandmother in June 1968. In 1975 the family moved into the family home her grandfather had built in 1925. She was very proud of that home. June cared for her mother there until her passing in 2017.

June was predeceased by her parents. She is survived by numerous cousins and friends.

Dear Cousins and Friends of June:
Thank you for the care you gave June over her lifetime. She was a quiet and unassuming lady who stayed close to home her entire life; being cared for, caring for others, and then learning to care for herself with help from all of you. I know her struggle with cancer was difficult and frightening but with the help of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and encouragement and watch care from all of you she faced life's challenges one day at a time with courage, and with an enduring hope of heaven and faith in God's provision. A quiet faith, hope and perseverance that struggled and fought with fear, loneliness, pain, and anxiety but overcame and allowed her to face yet another day until she made it all the way home. The Foresyth's were always about home, and June was no different... Home with family and now safely home with Jesus. In these difficult days as we see many people including ourselves struggle with suffering and with the worries and anxieties that come with our frail human condition we remember June and that she struggled too, not as someone who had "all the answers," not as a titan of resiliency, but as a very real, honest and vulnerable human being who trusted in the Good Shepherd and Almighty God and how that made the difference she needed to face each day. May that be an encouragement to us and give us the courage and strength to endure and face our own day with hope, confidence, peace and joy because of Jesus. Thank you June for being real, thank you for trusting God, and thank you for simply waking up each day and persevering. You will be missed here, but we are glad that you are now safely home with your LORD.
Deepest Condolences and Prayers to and for you all,
Rev. Darrin Ray
