Benisa Reyes of Abilene passed away Friday, December 25, 2020 at Her home. Funeral Services will be held Thursday December 31, 2020 at 11am at St. Francis Catholic Church with burial to follow at the Abilene Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 6-8pm at the North's Funeral Home Chapel.
Benisa was born August 23, 1933 in Abilene, TX to Vicenta Garza and Fabien Gonzales. Benisa received her primary education from Houston Elementary in Abilene. After High School she helped her mother care for her brothers and sisters. In her spare time she loved to sew, she made dresses and quilts for her siblings. Benisa loved to keep a clean house, and was always making tortillas for her neighbors. She was a very caring person who never met a stranger, and will be missed by many.
Benisa was preceded in death by son Leo Edward Reyes, Robert Reyes, brothers; Mack Gonzales, Bravlio Gonzales, Elmo Gonzales, and Alfonso Gonzales sisters; Inez Gonzales, and Amelia Benivamondez
Left to cherish her memories are: children Eva Reyes of Chicago, Josie Reyes and husband Augustine of Chicago, Esmerelda Stokes of Chicago, sister; Reynalda Ramirez of Abilene, Virginia Valero and Husband Angel of Washington, brother, Oscar Gonzales, of Abilene 41 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and a host of extended family and many friends.
