Devid Matteucci

Devid Matteucci, son of Alberto and Marina Matteucci, was born in Italy on July 31, 1968 and passed away on January 17, 2021. In 1979, Devid came to the United States with is his parents and two sisters and settled in Sacramento, CA where he lived until being able to retire and move to Abilene, TX in 2020.
Devid graduated from River City High School in West Sacramento, CA in 1986. After high school, Devid served for almost 20 years in both the Army National Guard and Army Reserves, first as an engineer, then as a military police officer.
In 1994, Devid began his 25-year career as a Correctional Officer with the California Department of Corrections. He worked at numerous correctional facilities throughout California where he earned certifications as a Rangemaster, Alarm Response instructor, and Baton instructor. Lastly, Devid spent several years as an instructor for the Correctional Officer Training Academy and retired as a Sergeant.
Devid is survived by his wife of 17 years, Tavelle and three amazing children Victor, Vivian, and Giovanni. Also surviving are his loving mother, Marina and two caring sisters, Paola (Tom) and Nadia (Carey), three adoring nieces and two nephews, Nicole (Dan), Mikayla, Sofia, Tylor, and Alexander. Devid also leaves behind his sweet Nonna Elia, uncles Vince, Roberto, and Max and two aunts Vienna and Aida, many cousins, and countless dear friends.
Devid was known and loved for his quick wit, undying humor and love for life coupled with fierce loyalty to his family and friends.
